An official source at the Interior Ministry on Friday said that the security forces have identified eight Saudis who were involved in the shooting of General Intelligence personnel while the victims were reading names of residents of Al-Roshan Complex for Furnished Flats in Riyadh on 20.11.1423 in order to locate wanted persons.
The shooting incident led to the injury of two General Intelligence officers, a Saudi and a Kuwaiti citizen. The official source said that the Shariah Court would try the culprits.
The source lauded the families who assisted authorities to arrest their relatives who were wanted by security services. “This cooperation has provided clear evidence of the confidence of citizens in security organisations, and recognition of their role in enhancing security and stability,” the official source said.
The source noted that some of the culprits had voluntarily handed themselves over to the authorities and registered their confessions. “The concerned security organisations will take all necessary measures to maintain law and order, and firmly to confront those who violate regulations and try to undermine the stability and security of Saudi society,” the official source added.
