06Feb2003 Arab, Islamic council members hosted to perform Hajj

Riyadh, 6th February 2003

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz has approved hosting a number of members of Arab and Islamic parliamentary and legislative councils to perform Hajj this year.

Dr Salih bin Humeid, Chairman of the Shoura (Consultative Council), highlighted the importance of this development, and said that it would enhance the relations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with other Arab and Muslim countries.

He noted that, in accordance with Royal approval, a number of members of parliamentary and legislative councils from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kirkistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Chad would be hosted to perform Hajj.
