04Feb2003 Crown Prince and King of Jordan hold meeting

Riyadh, 4th February 2003

Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, today held a meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan.

During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in the region, notably the Iraq issue and the efforts exerted by the two sides to reach a peaceful resolution of the crisis.

They also discussed the developments in Palestinian occupied territories, including the killing and destruction of homes and facilities by the Israeli forces.

The two sides reviewed the current events in Arab, Islamic and international arenas, and the respective stances of the two countries. They also discussed aspects of relations between the two countries and means to enhance cooperation.

On the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General; Prince Mit’eb bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of Public Works and Housing; Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, and a number of princes and senior officials.

The Jordanian side included Prince Faisal bin Al-Hosain, Prime Minister Ali Abu Al-Raghib, and other senior officials.
