14Jan2003 Saudi official affirms need to support peace and development in Sudan

Khartoum, 14th January 2003

The Saudi Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Nezar bin Obaid Madani, on Monday reiterated the importance of Arab states playing a major role to bring about peace in Sudan, by support of development programs to construct areas that have been afflicted by war.

In a statement last night, Dr Madani who came here to attend a meeting of the Arab Ministerial Committee concerned with Sudan, expressed hope that the Committee meeting would yield fruitful results that meet Arab expectations. He lauded bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Sudan.
