14Jan2003 Saudi, Korean Ministers review oil cooperation

Riyadh, 14th January 2003

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Nuaimi, today received the South Korean Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy, Sin Kuk-hwan.

During the meeting, the Ministers discussed the current situation in the international oil market, including OPEC’s approach to seek balance between demand and supply, and the importance of stability of the oil price, in the light of OPEC’s recent meeting in Vienna where the oil cartel endorsed an increase in output.

They also discussed means of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the field of petroleum and mining, and joint investments.
