Riyadh, 7th January 2003

The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Shoura (Consultative Council) on Tuesday reviewed the unified security strategy for combating the phenomenon of extremism, which is accompanied by terrorism, in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.

The Committee also reviewed issues pertaining to the GCC economic agreement at a meeting attended by Dr Tawfiq Al-Sudeiry, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance for Islamic affairs, and Dr Hamad Al-Bazi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and National Economy for economic affairs.

The Shoura’s Economic Committee on Tuesday held a meeting in the presence of members of the Executive Committee of the International Parliamentary Federation, who are currently visiting the Kingdom.

The Shoura’s Transport and Telecommunications Committee today exchanged views with officials of the General Presidency of Civil Aviation on the system of civil aviation tariffs.
