The Minister of Education, Dr Mohammed Ahmed Al-Rasheed, on Monday chaired the 12th session of the Executive Council of King Abdul Aziz and his Companions Foundation for the Gifted. Dr Al-Rasheed is Vice-President of the Foundation.
Participants of the meeting reviewed topics on the agenda, including the Foundation’s report on the 22 summer programs it carried out in cooperation with other authorities, the issue of building a commercial centre on the piece of land donated by Saudi Government to the Foundation, and the Foundation’s budget for the current fiscal year.
They expressed appreciation for the donation of SR2.5 million given by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz. The donation will be used to pay the required fees for training outstanding students at the Faculty of Education of King Saud University.
Prince Abdul Aziz bin Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of State, member of Cabinet and Chief of the Court of Cabinet’s Presidency, who is also a member of the Foundation’s Executive Council, pledged to implement the project of constructing a new building for the Foundation at his own expense. The site of the project was previously donated by King Abdul Aziz City for Sciences and Technology (KACST).
The meeting was attended by a number of members of the Foundation’s Executive Council, including the Minister of Industry and Electricity, Dr Hashim Yamani, the Minister of State and member of Cabinet, Dr Musaed Al-Eiban, and President of KACST, Dr Salih Al-Azl.
