In order to raise sporting standards in the Kingdom to international and world class level, the General Presidency of Youth Welfare has assiduously encouraged and promoted competition.
To this end, the GPYW has given priority to the construction of sport clubs which provide facilities for sports training and competition. Category A Sports Clubs are furnished with stadia, swimming pools and all the amenities of a modern Sports Club, together with VIP facilities, auditoria, youth hostels, car parking areas, amusement areas and gardens. Category B Sports Clubs have all the sports facilities of Category A clubs, including indoor courts and swimming pools, but do not have some of the other amenities. Category C Sport Clubs have all the facilities of Category B clubs, with the exception of the swimming pools.
