Situated in the capital is the
King Fahd Cultural Center, a building which in the grace and beauty of its design suitably reflects the riches of the Kingdom's artistic productions, both past and present, which are to be displayed there. The building occupies an area of 10,000 square meters and, within it are housed a theater with a seating capacity of 3,000, a library, a training theater, a restaurant and a cafeteria, as well as the necessary administrative offices.
In May, 2003, the King Fahd Cultural Center, formerly affiliated to the General Presidency for Youth Welfare, was transferred to the newly formed Ministry of Culture and Information.
