SABIC - First Phase (1)

The main features of the first phase of the industrial program launched by SABIC were:

- 5 ethylene-based petrochemical complexes with a total annual capacity of 1.6 million tons of ethylene.

- 2 chemical-grade methanol plants with a total annual capacity of 1.25 million tons

- 1 urea plant with an annual capacity of 500,000 million tons

- 1 iron and steel plant at Jubail with an annual capacity of 800,000 tons

- expansion of the Jiddah Steel Rolling Mill to produce 140,000 tons per annum
