SAMA - Exchange Rate Regime

The Saudi Arabian Riyal is formally pegged to the SDR at SR1 = 4.28255 per SDR, with the maximum permissible margins of 7.25 percent.

This fixed relationship has been suspended since 1981 so that a close relationship with the U.S. dollar, the intervention currency, is maintained with an exchange rate of $1 = SR3.75.
