Holy Qur'an (1)

The Holy Qur'an is the word of God revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, by the Angel Gabriel. It is for Muslims the uncreated work of God and, in its original form, is preserved beside the throne of God in heaven.

The utterances of God was vouchsafed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who committed the words to memory and later dictated the word of God to his Companions and to secretaries who wrote them down.

There are 114 Suras (chapters) which vary in length.

The Holy Qur'an, as it is now, was compiled shortly after the Prophet's death.
