11th June 2012 - Saudi Arabia is substantially exceeding its Opec oil quota

Current estimates suggest that Opec is exceeding its own quota ceiling of 30 mbd by around 6%, almost entirely as a result of Saudi Arabia's high level of production. Saudi levels of oil production, combined with the continuing failure of the global economy to respond to various stimuli, are exerting downward pressure on the oil price.
