2nd June 2012 - Mubarak sentence first pleases, then angers

Former President of Egypt Hosni Mubarak has been sentenced to life imprisonment for not exercising his authority to stop the bloodshed in last year's uprising but it seems those who authorised and carried out the killings are to escape justice. Charges of corruption and profiteering against the former President and his sons were dismissed. This is the first time an Arab leader has been arrested, tried, condemned and sentenced entirely by his own people.
