Tension grows in relations with Iran as the head of its nuclear programme annonuces that, from 9th February, Iran will start enriching its uranium to 20 percent and that plans for an expansion of its uranium enrichment capacity will go ahead. Although Tehran has offered to halt production of its own enriched uranium if supplied with enriched uranium from abroad, talks have failed to reach a conclusion. Western dimplomats and political leaders are said to be alarmed by the latest developments.
