24th January 2010 - Iraq war was illegal, top lawyer will tell Chilcot inquiry (Obs)

The UK's Chilcot enquiry into the causes, legality and planning of the inavsion of Iraq in 2003 is to be told by a former top legal official at the British Foreign Office that the decision of former Prime Minister Blair to take Britain into war with Iraq was illegal, a view shared by the Attorney General at the time until a few days before the invasion.
