Following the reported failed attempt of a Nigerian who studied in England to blow up a plane as it approached Detroit airport, the British Prime Minister has called for an international conference on Yemen. Yemen is the country where the Nigerian allegedly met with, was radicalised by and despatched on a mission by Al Qaeda. "Mr. Brown said in a statement that he had support for the Yemen meeting from the United States and the European Union, and that he would seek backing from Saudi Arabia and other Persian Gulf states. "
