21st October 2009 - Kuwait to Allow Women to Travel Without Husband's Consent (VoA)

In most of the Arabian Gulf, women cannot travel abroad without the consent of their husbands or other close male relative. Kuwait's constitutional court has decided to break with this tradition, revoking the 1962 passport law which formally imposed this restriction.
