The Kingdom has announced that all pilgrims arriving from overseas for this year's Hajj will be administered a polio vaccine. The Kingdom has also donated another 30 million dollars to the effort to eradicate polio completely worldwide. The disease persists only in four countries, all with Muslims either as all or part of the population. The cause for the disease's persistence in these areas is the rumour that the vaccine is a Western plot to sterilise Muslim women.
