7th September 2009 - Oil clings near $68 ahead of OPEC meeting (WP)


The oil price has remained at 68 dollars a barrel as the market waits for OPEC's meeting this coming Wednesday and a decision on oil production quotas. "Crude prices have swung wildly in the past year, reaching $147 a barrel in July 2008 before plunging to $32 a barrel in February. Saudi Arabia, OPEC's biggest producer, has said $75 is a fair price for consumers and producers."
