Kuwait has announced that it has prevented a planned attack on its oil installations and on the U.S. army camp which is used by the Americans as a logisitcs base for US operations in Iraq. The six-man group responsible is said to be linked to Al Qaeda. "Al Qaeda has waged attacks in the Gulf Arab state in recent years such as bombings of foreign housing complexes and oil sites in several Gulf Arab states including Saudi Arabia, but a crackdown by governments in the region has succeeded in preventing fresh violence. "
