2nd July 2009 - EADS wins giant Saudi border deal


The defence and aerospace group EADS (which already has a contract covering the Saudi/Iraq border) has been awarded a $2.27 billion contract to improve Saudi Arabia's border security in all areas. The new contract provides for all forms of surveillance equipment. EADS will be expected to pay particular attention to the Saudi/Yemeni border which the Saudis believe is the border though which most of the weapons to be used by militants pass.
