A teenage girl seems to be the only survivor of the plane crash off the Comoros islands. In response to safety concerns, a spokesperson for Yemenia, the jointly owned Saudi-Yemeni airline involved, said: "the crashed plane had passed a safety inspection in May". The airline has and denounced "false information and speculation" about the cause of the accident and has already announced it will make initial payments of 20,000 (17,000) to the families for each of the victims.
