27th May 2009 - Saudis say no OPEC oil production cut needed (WP)

Despite the wish of some hard-liners within OPEC to cut production in order to boost the oil price, Saudi Arabia has taken the view that the current oil price is high enough for now. The Kingdom is therefore advocating no change in production levels. Given Saudi Arabia's dominant role within OPEC, Saudi policy is usually adopted by the other 11 members.
