17th May 2009 - Kuwait elects its first ever women MPs


In elections in Kuwait for the 50-seat Parliament, four female candidates have been elected as members. Amongst the four women was Massouma al-Mubarak who served as planning minister in 2005, and later served at the ministries of transport and health.
