An editorial in the Washington Post ridicules Charles Freeman's allegations that the Israeli lobby was behind the campaign to prevent him from becoming Head of the National Intelligence Council. The strident tone of the editorial, its desparate attempts to denigrate Freeman (a former Saudi ambassador) and exonerate the Israeli lobby, lends credence to Freeman's claim that American policy is governed by Israeli interests. The editorial points out some instances where the U.S. Adminstration has not done everything Israel wants. It fails to note that America always starts from premises based on Israel's distorted world view; that America effectively underwrites the state of Israel militarilty and economically; and that America has opposed every effort to condemn Israel for racist policies that clearly fall into the catgory of crimes against humanity.
