26th February 2009 - Palestinians pledge era of unity (BBC)

The leaders of Fatah and Hamas have agreed to set up a committee with a view to the formation of a Palestinian unity government. Other moves towards reconciliation include both sides relasing detainees, and refraining from attacks on each other in the media. Moves towards reconciliation were given impetus by Isael's three week offensive in Gaza which ended on 17th January.
