Khalid al-Fawwaz, a Saudi national and allegedly a close associate of Osama bin Laden, has launched a fresh legal challenge against the British Home Secretary's decision to deport him to the US, claiming his human rights would be breached if he were to be sent to an American "supermax" prison. In the U.S., Al-Fawwaz faces life without possibility of parole in virtual solitary confinement in a cell measuring 11ft 5ins by 6ft 6ins, with one hour a day for exercise.
