5th February 2009 - Charges Dropped in Guantanamo Terror Trial (WP)

Following President Obama's executive order to terminate all military trials at Guantanamo Bay, charges against a Saudi, Abd al-Rahim Al-Nashiri, accused of masterminding the attack on USS Cole in 2000, have been dropped. Mr Al-Nashiri will remain in custody and, since charges were dropped without prejudice, he may face new charges in future.
