1st February 2009 - Saudi prince develops date detox’ in Belfast (TT)


While studying at Queen's University, Belfast, Prince Abdulrahman Bandar Al-Saud, a nephew of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, has devised a method of using discarded date stones (of which the Kingdom has 800,000 tonnes each year) to purify waste water and industrial effluent by using activated carbon derived from the date seeds.
