24th October 2008 - Oil falls despite production cuts (BBC)


Despite OPEC action to stabilise the oil price by cutting production by 1.5 million barrels a day, the price of oil continued to slide. In the view of some commentators, the threat of global recession is depressing demand to such an extent that OPEC's ability to determine the oil price is substantially undermined.
