1st October 2008 - Karzai Sought Saudi Help With Taliban (NYT)


The president of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai has expressed disappointment that, despite appeals to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, leader of the Muslim world, to engage in negotiations to bring about a ceasefire and peace in his country, the Taleban remain intransigent and, if anything, have become more aggressive and assertive in the last year.
