25th September 2008 - Mid-East Quartet 'has lost grip' (BBC)

Despite President Bush's predictions of major progress in resolving the Israel/Palestine conflict during his presidency, a group of aid agencies has declared the plight of the Palestinians to be worse than ever and the propsects for any degree of progress remote. One of the aid agency suggested that at the heart of the "Quartet" (of the USA, Russia, the EU and the UN) is a vacuum of leadership.
