Following the extraordinary global response to King Abdullah's initiative, the Saudi Arabian Cabinet has emphasised the crucial importance of the interfaith conference and the Madrid Declaration in emphasising that Islam is a moderate, tolerant faith that is open to interfaith dialogue.
