In an effort to address the global economic problems in general and the crisis caused by the high oil price in particular, the G8 countries are setting up a new Energy Forum, intended to bring together oil producers and consumers and to result in concerted action to manage oil supplies. G8 spokespeople say the G8 Energy Forum will be braoder in its brief than the recent Opec meeting summoned by Saudi Arabia.
