A report by Human Rights Watch released today argues that the guardianship system in Saudi Arabia restricts the rights and freedom of women in every aspect of life. "Saudi women won’t make any progress until the government ends the abuses that stem from these misguided [guardianship] policies, said Farida Deif, the report’s author. For Saudi women, reaching adulthood brings no rights, only responsibilities. "
