6th April 2003 - IIRO distributes food aid

The Mauritania-based bureau of the International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO) has distributed urgent food aid to those afflicted by drought in Mauritania under the supervision of the Saudi Embassy.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the bureau pointed out that the aid, worth $100,000 dollars, comprised 205 tons of rice, wheat, sugar and vegetable oil, in addition to three containers loaded with dates, clothes and other materials. More than 5,000 families have benefited from the aid.
