The right hand of a Bangladeshi citizen, Ghazi Mohammed Mohsen Abdul-Ghani, was amputated here on Wednesday, after the man was convicted of committing a theft inside the Holy Mosque of Makkah, said a statement issued by the Interior Ministry.
The Shariah Court passed the sentence on the culprit, and the Cassation Court and the Supreme Judicial Council approved the verdict.
The statement reiterated the determination of the Saudi government to guarantee law and order, and severely to punish criminals.
