27th December 2003 - Saudi Arabian support for Iraqi cultural institutions

Tehran, 27 December, 2003

Dr Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Anqari, Minister of Higher Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Dr. Abdulaziz bin Othman Al-Tuwaijeri, the Director General of Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), signed here today a contribution memorandum on implementing programs to restart the cultural institutions in Iraq through ISESCO.

The memorandum was signed on the sidelines of the 8th session of ISESCO's General Assembly currently in progress in Tehran. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Dr Al-Tuwaijeri expressed his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince for this contribution to help the Iraqi people. He also noted that the financial support will help in taking care of educational and cultural institutions in Iraq.

The Kingdom's Ambassador to Iran Dr Nasser bin Ahmed Al-Braik said that the Saudi contribution to ISESCO comes within the Kingdom's vital and important role in support of Islam and it is in continuation of the projects implemented by the Kingdom all over the world in the service of Islam and Muslims.
