The Health Minister, Dr Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Mani, highlighted the attention accorded by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, to the Kingdom’s pharmaceutical and medical supplies industries, which the private sector has been encouraged to promote.
Dr Al-Mani said that there are over 21 factories in the Kingdom that produce pharmaceutics and medical supplies, which have a capital of millions of Saudi Riyals. “The future of the pharmaceutical industry in the Kingdom is bright and promising,” he added.
Dr Al-Mani reiterated the importance of the sixth conference of the Saudi Pharmacists Society, which is due to be held on 6-9 October 2003 in Riyadh, saying that the conference is expected to yield positive results and issue important recommendations for activating the pharmaceutical sector.
