The Saudi Arabian Cassation Court has ordered a new trial of two relgious police officers accused, but previously acquitted, of involvement in the death of a man taken into custody after a raid to find alcohol in his home. This is one of two recent cases where individuals have died while in the hands of the religious police. Public concern has led some to call for reform of the powerful Commission for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice which employs the relgious police.
