23Sep2005 Saudi Aid Delivered To Pakistan

Islamabad, 23 September, 2005

Saudi Ambassador Ali Awadh Asseri presented here today to Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz a cheque of half a million Saudi Riyals ($138,000) for building rehabilitation centres for drug addicts in Islamabad, said an official statement.

Asseri also conveyed top Saudi leadership's warm greetings to its Pakistani counterpart.

The Prime Minister asked the ambassador to convey his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz and Interior Minister Naif bin Abdulaziz for their generous gift to Pakistan.

This help, he said, reflected the close, cordial, multifaceted and unique relations between the two countries.

The Prime Minister said Saudi Arabia has an important role in the Muslim Ummah and congratulated King Abdullah on the occasion of the 75th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
