A number of prominent figures have spoken on the occasion of the Saudi National Day and have praised the achievements of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In exclusive statements to the Saudi Press Agency published today, they congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, and the Saudi people on the 75th anniversary of the unification of the Kingdom.
They lauded the smooth transfer of power in the Kingdom and attributed the deep-rooted stability of the country to this measure.
They noted the historic development witnessed by the Kingdom in all fields. The role of the Kingdom in regional and international peace, security and stability was also highlighted.
They hailed the support Saudi Arabia was and still giving to the Palestinian issue, noting the sizable relief aid to needy Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank.
Saudi support for the people of Iraq, peace in Sudan, reconciliation process in Somalia and development in the Comoro islands was also commended.
The Kingdom's successful measures taken to fight terrorism, in cooperation with other parties in the world, were also recognized by these prominent personalities.
To this effect, they underscored the importance, and expressed their support for, the Saudi proposal to establish a counter-terrorism international center.
They said the 75th anniversary of the Saudi National Day coincided with the selection of Makkah as capital of Islamic culture for the year 1426 AH.
