Cairo, 21 September, 2005

Saudi Arabia's Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ahmed Abdulaziz Gattan, has notified the Secretariat General of the Arab League of the approval of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to continue allowing Palestinian goods and products to be imported without paying customs duties for one more year, effective from 11th of Ramadan 1426 AH, corresponding to 14 October, 2005 due to the continued difficulties for Palestinian economy.

In remarks to the Saudi Press Agency, Gattan said that this initiative is in line with Saudi leadership's stance towards the Palestinian issue, with the aim of reaching an independent Palestine state, with Al Quds as its capital.
