The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has issued his directives that an urgent relief committee be formed under the chairmanship of the Acting Chief of the Saudi Red Crescent Association and should immediately fly to the Republic of Niger on a fact-finding mission to examine media reports that the people of Niger were on the verge of famine and humanitarian disaster due to severe drought and spread of locust.
The committee members will travel to the capital of Niger tomorrow.
