Minister of Agriculture Dr Fahd bin Abdul-Rahman bin Sulaiman Balghunaim has signed a SR18 million contract to transfer treated water from Al-Jarudeya station to Qatif, Al-Riyadh Arabic newspaper reported.
The project aims at developing agriculture in Qatif. Dr Balghunaim pointed out that the project would provide 60,000 cubic meters of treated water. It will be transported through pipes to agricultural areas in Qatif.
