Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz , the Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, has expressed sorrow and grief over the death of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz.
"We have lost a leader who dedicated his time for the service of his religion and nation. The world has lost a leader who has worked for enhancing the pillars of justice and peace", said Prince Sultan in his speech.
Crown Prince Sultan expressed appreciation for heartfelt feelings shown by the Saudi people towards the deceased, and condoled the Arab and Muslim nations on the death of King Fahd.
"King Fahd was a father of the young and a brother of the adults, and he successfully unified the hearts", he said, adding that he was a farsighted leader and a man of vision, reason, wisdom and bravery.
"King Fahd worked for building his country and developing his people, and exerted intensive efforts in the service of the Arab and Muslim causes".
"King Fahd who named himself 'the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' implemented the greatest expansion project in the history of the Two Holy Mosques. He also developed the Holy Places and implemented the project of King Fahd Holy Quran Printing Complex."
"King Fahd was aware of the greatness of the responsibility and challenges and he determinately worked to meet the aspirations of his people, and in a record time he accomplished remarkable achievements".
"King Fahd worked to close the ranks of the Arab and Muslim nations and to enhance the pillars of justice and peace in the region, and made sacrifices in cooperation with his brothers for defending the legitimacy, values and principles on which this state was established by Late King Abdulaziz".
"We pray to Almighty Allah to reward our deceased for his great deeds in the service of Islam and Muslims".
"Thanks to Almighty Allah, we have been compensated by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, who has been King Fahd's honest assistant and a man who has devoted his time to his religion and country, as well as his nation", he said, adding that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will go ahead under the leadership of King Abdullah for further progress and development in line with the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah (the Prophet's tradition).
