31Jul2005 SR600m to Establish 15 Shrimp Farms

Al-Leeth, Saudi Arabia, 31 July 2005

The board of directors of the National Shrimp Company in Al-Leeth area has approved SR35 million to buy equipments for the second stage of the project to establish 15 farms specialized in producing shrimps, Al-Eqtisadiah reported.

The manager of the company, Ahmad Al-Balaa, said that the total cost expected for the second stage is SR600 million.

The total size of land in which the 15 farms will be established is 3,500 hectares and it is expected to produce 17,500 tons of shrimps every year.
