22May2005 Forged items breaching copyright or other regulations destroyed

The Internal Information Department of the Ministry of Culture and Information in Riyadh destroyed today more than two million forged and copied information items which have violated the regulations of copyrights and publication in the Kingdom.

The items included videotapes, various recording tapes and computer discs /CDs/.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Misfer bin Saad Al-Misfer, the Advisor Supervising the Internal Information said that in implementation of the directives of Minister of Culture and Information Iyad bin Amin Madani and Prince Turki bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Culture and Information, the items have been seized during inspection tours to apply regulations and seize material in violation .
