28Dec2004 Crown Prince remarks at King Fahd University

Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, has affirmed that everything is possible for give-and-take except faith; and that everything is also open for debate except the nation, its unity and security.

He made these remarks in a speech during an opening ceremony of a number of developmental projects at King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals, here yesterday.

The Crown Prince said: "We believe in Islamic Sharia as a constitution and moderation as a path. We explore the best and beneficial means for all our affairs".

He added: “What has been made by human beings can be changed by them, but whatever comes from God lasts until the day of judgment…We will continue the march forward under the creed and the flag of the nation with no attention to the criminal extremists and agents of treason. We will more forward with the goal of satisfying God and serving our citizens with trust in God".

The Crown Prince expressed happiness over visiting the King Fahd University.

Addressing the students, the Crown Prince said "Dear sons, you belong to a great Arab and Islamic civilization which led the whole world for centuries. It is an open and moderate civilization which combined faith and science and taught the world lessons in tolerance and the shunning of extremism. I am sure you are going to continue this great march equipped first with faith in God, and then enriching yourselves with science, nationalism and sincerity."

A number of speeches were also delivered on this occasion which was attended by a number of princes and senior officials.
